Cheap hire year

2009 will be maybe the year with the cheapest hire price in Romania.
There are two main reasons:

1. The well-known crisis

2. This year will graduate two promotions of CS students. Those with a 5 years curricula and those with 4 year curricula in addition. Therefore this year the number of available candidates will be with about 40% higher overall.

This is good for employers because:
1. The selection base is broader and therefore better candidates would appear
2. the demand will be higher than the offer and there will be real concurrency for the declining number of positions
3. The employers would be able to negotiate the wages more tightly.

Maybe this will be the end of some odd situations in the Romanian HR. Very young and unexperienced candidates with very high demands. They were chosen just because nobody else asked for the job. Now this will end... This is good! Also for us those that are already in 'comfortable' positions because young wolves are coming and we will have to strive at our best to keep our jobs.

"White Tiger" a lui Aravind Adiga e o carte socanta, povestea unui indian sarac (99.9% dintre indieni sunt extrem de saraci, desi ar trebui sa beneficieze de avantajele democratiei parlamentare si sistemului capitalist Wink hehe); cartea e compusa sub forma unei scrisori catre premierul chinez care va veni in vizita oficiala in India pentru un schimb de experienta si pentru ca sa afle secretul antrepenorilor indieni, care au monopolizat piata outsourcing-ului...
    Nu vreau sa va dau mai multe amanunte/sa va rapesc bucuria lecturii, cartea este extraordinara, "Crima si pedeapsa" in varianta moderna, dar intoarsa pe de-a indoaselea, sau cheia secretului in afaceri (in India in particular). Mi-a adus aminte si de Nietzsche, nu exista precepte morale, viate e o jungla, eroul nu are de ales, trebuie sa faca ceea ce are de facut...

  2. batalia e doar in cazul celor fara experienta in ro ce i profesionisti intr un anumit domeniu din it nu au prea multe alegeri in cazul joburilor practic in marea majoritate dupa cativa ani buni de experienta nu prea poti evolua financiar in ro asta tine si de naturara outsourcingului romanesc ieftin bugfixing si proiecte trase de par cu nervi de cat mai multi programatori buni dar mai ales ieftini... faptul ca se arunca in batalie absolventi si studenti care n au nici cunostinte de baza de java de ex. si e vazut ca un lucru normal de managerii din ro era pana nu de mult o anomalie specific mioritica care tine si de oameni nici unde in tarile dezvoltate nu se arunca oameni pe proiecte fara un training foarte riguros si timp de acomodare mai mult decat suficient
